Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

"I'm fine!" She snapped, frowning at the dog. She turned around to face Mitheel.

Mitheel looked at her arm. "We'll need to clean it out so it doesn't get infected. Then I'll wrap it, okay?"

"Fine." She replied. "When are we leaving?"

"As soon as we get that done," Mitheel replied, looking through his stuff for soap and water.

"Look, I'll be fine. I feel nothing, I just want to get to your friend's house so that I can finally meet him." Bai's acting skills were flawless.

Mitheel frowned. "Alright then." he got back on the runners. "Ready?" he asked.

"Yeah," She replied, getting back in where she stood earlier.

"Hike," Mitheel commanded, and then watched as the scenery flew past them. Just a few more miles, he thought.

Bai grasped Mitheel again. "Why do you have to be so tall?"

"You think I'm tall?" he asked quizzically, and then he began to slow down, seeing a house in the distance. "It's him."

"Yeah. Only because I'm 3"8 and 9 years old."

Mitheel grinned. "Its fine, I'm sure you'll get bigger." soon, the sled stopped in front of the house, and Mitheel stepped off. He approached the house, knocking on the door. A man answered. "The codeword?" he asked, in a raspy voice. Remembering the piece of paper, Mitheel answered with confidence. "The E is Silent." Opening the door, the man welcomed them in.

Bai followed him into the house.

"You must be here for my medication." the man, Jenkins sat on his couch. Mitheel nodded. "Yeah. My friend told me you had it?" smiling, Jenkins pulled out a large box. He pulled out a few viles of a greenish liquid and handed it to them. "Take this and go, don't tell anyone I gave it to you." Nodding, Mitheel turned to leave.

Well, this is going way to fast. Bai shrugged off the thought, following Mitheel once more.

Mitheel trotted out of the door, heading for the sled, knowing the journey was not over. Since it had taken one month to get here, it would probably take another month to get back. [Timeskip?]

[1 month later...]
It had been two long, strenuous months, but finally Mitheel could see his house over the hill. "Bai," he said. "We're almost there." at the sight of his familiar dwelling, Oliver let out a loud roar, pulling harder, spurring the other cats to go faster.

Liz was worriedly watching Matt, who had been getting worse and worse. He had passed the blood-drinking stage and was now in the silent stage. His eyes stared straight ahead, and she knew it was only a matter of time before he went into the last stage or possibly died. However, upon hearing her pet's roar, she ran outside. "Oliver!" she yelled. "Mitheel! Bai! You're back!"

"Hm?" Bai whispered, opening her eyes. "I was scared as hell...and yeah, we're back. Just give him the medicine!"

Mitheel grinned, stopping the sled and getting off. He unhooked Oliver, who ran full-speed at Liz and did a flying leap, landing in her arms as she wrapped them around him. "Olives," she laughed. "Good boy," she murmured, rubbing her hands down his shoulder blades. Mitheel went inside, and Liz finally pried Oliver off of her and followed him to where Matt was lying.

Bai was catching up, unusually tired. Maybe from no murders....."Has he been alright?" Bai whispered to Mello. "Not exactly. It got worse...but that's why they make medicine."

Liz took the bottles from Mitheel and grinned, looking around for her briefcase. When she found it, she opened it, revealing a tiny needle, no bigger than her pinky finger. She filled it with the liquid and injected it into Matt's shoulder, and then waited for it to take effect. For a few minutes, nothing happened. Then his eyes slowly closed and he shivered, and then lay still. Finally, his eyes opened again, looking around. "M..Mello?" he murmured softly.

"Yes, Matt?" Mello grinned. "It worked," Bai was in shock, watching as Mello's grin widened.

He groaned, and then shifted. "I'm hungry." Liz rolled her eyes. "Well of course. You haven't eaten in two months."

"Yeah, it worked." Mello sighed, getting up.
