Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

"Really? What did he say?" Mitheel got to the sled and stood on the runners. "You can get in the sled, there's enough room. Unless, of course, you would rather stand with me..."

"Akward...." she moaned. "Anyway, we just talked. None of your business. I can stand with you if you'd like."

"That'll be fine." he shifted his weight, kicking the lock holding the sled to the ground off.

"But I must warn you, I'm armed. So don't pull anything on me."

"I won't promise." he looked around. "Now get on, we don't have too much time to spare."

"Alright, alright." She stood next to Mitheel, suddenly scared as hell.

Mitheel raised his voice. "Hike!" he called out, and Oliver lurched forward, the other cats spurring into motion as they began to run. Following Liz's instructions, Mitheel turned them towards the east side of the mountains, heading into the deep unknowns of the forbidding forest.

This is crazy.... Bai thought to herself, hair standing still in its ponytail.

Mitheel enjoyed the sledding, even more than when he had done it solo with only Oliver.

"I hope you're enjoying this, because I've never done this before in my life." She gripped onto Mitheel.

Mitheel grinned and looked down at her. "Don't worry, it'll get better as we go along."

"And stop grinning, you pervert!"

Mitheel frowned. "I am not a pervert."

"Well, I'm certainly getting the wrong idea." She replied, gripping tighter.

Mitheel looked ahead, blushing slightly as her grip tightened. [Mind if I timeskip to when they meet crazy Officer Kyle and his dog Jan?]

[Sure, no problem.]

Bai smiled as he saw he blushed a little bit. "Aww...."

['Kay then.] As they travelled, hours turned into days, and days into weeks. They had been travelling for one month when they hit an important marker--only 10 more miles left. However, when Mitheel stopped to rest the cats, he heard rustling. "Eh?" turning, he noticed an officer step out, a snarling, growling, saliva-dripping black standard poodle at his side. "What the--"

Bai immediately pulled out her gun. "Who the hell are you?!" She rasped, catching her breath.

"I am Officer Kyle," the man said, grinning awkwardly. "And this is Jan, and I'm afraid you're on illegal land, kids." Jan let out a snarling bark, as if to back up his owner. Liz warned me about this guy, Mitheel thought, and he shifted nervously. Observing the cats, Kyle smiled. "Eh heh, that's Liz's team. What're you doing with her cats?"

"That's none of your business, creep." Bai murmured. "I don't think we're on illegal land."

"Well you are. Marijuana is known to grow very rapidly 'round these parts. We try to get rid of it, but it always grows back. I'm here to make sure people don't get back here to try and sell it." Mitheel's eyes widened. The illegal drug in the medicine--it must be the marijuana! he shook his head, as if to clear his thoughts, and looked at him. "Look, will you just let us pass? I'm trying to get to a friend's place, and its right across this land. There's no other way to get there but through here." "'Fraid not, and unless you two want a nice whoopin', you're gonna get your asses out of here and go back to your mom and dad."

"What did you just say to me?" Bai snapped. "I'll show you an ass whooping, and it's gonna hurt like hell!" She launched forward, her long blade pointed at the Officer.

Suddenly, the dog launched itself at Bai, snarling, grabbing hold of her arm. Without thinking, Mitheel ran over to Oliver and unclipped him from the sled. "Oliver, angriff!" Roaring, the cat rammed into the dog. Squealing in surprise, it only took a slash across the rear for the dog to go running, tail between its legs.

Bai struggled with her arm. "Fuck...."

Snarling, the cat turned its attention to Kyle, who wasted no time escaping. Sighing, Mitheel returned the cat to his position and ran over to Bai. "Bai, are you okay?" he asked.
