Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

[Woot new thread!] Matt flipped the page once more, to a picture of a now much bigger cat chowing down on a little cake made out of fish, the title being "Happy B-Day Mishy!" "First birthday, huh," Matt said, flipping the page again.

"I think Liz has emotional problems, too."

"Not really. A lot of people celebrate their pets birthdays." on this page was a picture of Liz lying on her back in her bed, the cat stretched out on her stomach. He took up the entire space from her neck to her legs from his head to tail. "Big kitty," Matt muttered, looking at the other page. It was a picture of that cat and a tiny orange striped cub. "Oliver," he murmured. "That's Oliver."

"I'm just as curious as you and crap, but I seriously gotta go out somehwere."

"You do that then." Matt kept looking through, grinning at some pictures (like Mischief playing with a fish) and a serious expression at others (like Mischief with an older person-he was most likely a therapy cat.). On the second to last picture, his breath caught in his throat. It was Liz, hugging the cat's limp body to her, crying into his fur. Matt knew immediately what had happened, and he looked at the last picture. It was a poem, a very short one, like this;
"Mischief"
Big, tall
Sweet summer kisses
I lay you here
For your eternal rest, peace
Mischief
Below it was that same Christmas picture, the first one in the book.

Mello walked out of the room, down the hall and into his car. He drove off to buy something.

Matt stared at it for a while, before closing it and going to put it in Liz's room.

It was now dark outside, and Mitheel sighed, clutching Lightning close to his chest and stroking him.

Bai snuck away from the house quickly, off to see Mitheel. She crept up to the house, her red eyes glowing in the dark.

Mitheel could see red eyes gleaming in the dark, and he grinned. "Bai!" he ran down to meet her, Lightning still in his arms. "Look at what I found! His name's Lightning. Daddy said I could keep him."

"He's really cute!" Bai replied, grabbing her notebook and holding it tightly.

"Thanks." Mitheel petted him. "Say, do you have any pets?"

"Nope. I'd murder them the first chance I got."

Mitheel blinked. "Really? Why?"

"Because pain is funny."

Mitheel nodded. "I like pets. They're not like people. Well, I like people too, but people boss you around and are mean sometimes and pick on you and yell and scold. Pets don't do that to you." Mitheel grinned as Lightning licked his cheek.

"Yeah, I agree."

Mitheel put Lightning down, and the cub sniffed at Bai's feet, and then wound back around Mitheel's legs, purring and chirping.

"I sware there is nothing in the world to do."

"It is boring..." Mitheel huffed. "Hey...maybe we could go into the city!"

"Yeah!" Her curled, dark brown hair bobbed as she clapped.

Mitheel grinned. "Lets go then!" he picked up Lightning and began to depend to the city. Oliver decided to follow them at the last minute, in case anything happened.

"But wait, where are we going?"

"I dunno...we'll look around, see if we can find anything interesting." Mitheel said as they got closer.

"Alright, phew. Thank God."

Mitheel kept Lightning to his chest and Oliver at his side as they wandered curiously. He saw an old building and went over to it, looking around. "I wonder if anyone's in there...only one way to find out." he grinned, trotting over to it.
