Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

"I know this place! This is where I made my first murder."

"Really?" Mitheel looked around. "Cool." he trotted inside of the old building, the darkness making him a bit uneasy.

"You seem uneasy, Mitheel."

"Its just the darkness. It sort of scares me..." suddenly, he could hear cold, chilling laughter from somewhere around him.
"Well well well, lookie here." a figure appeared out of the darkness, a feminine looking body outlined in the moonlight. "What've we got ourselves here, Ben?"
"I dunno Shelly, looks like two kids that ended up in the wrong place," a husky voice rasped, another figure stepping out into the moonlight. Mitheel gasped and hugged Lightning close. He felt Oliver brush past him and trot out. Please let him be going for help, Mitheel silently prayed.

"Don't be scared." Bai rasped quietly to Mitheel. "I can easily kill them."

Mitheel's heart thrummed in his chest as they drew closer. "Tell me little ones," the female, Shelly sneered. "What're you doing out here all alone in the night? Shouldn't you be home with your mommies?"

"Shut up or I'll shoot you." Bai growled, pulling out her pistol.

"Scary," the male, Ben said, pulling out a rifle that had before been hidden behind him. He cocked it and aimed at her. Mitheel shrank down, eyes wide and trembling with fear. Please please please... he thought internally Don't hurt Bai.

"Do you know who I am?" Bai cocked her head, shooting the man. Her bullte proof vest had actually been thin, but it was completly safe and harm free.

He howled in pain as the bullet dug into his shoulder. "Why you little!" he snarled, pulling the trigger on her. Mitheel could barely move...
he suddenly heard a deathly snarl and saw a blur of red, black and white. It was Matt, quickly pinning the two adults down. He curled his lips back in a snarl. "If you ever come near my son again," he hissed, not even bothering to finish the sentence. The two adults trembled under him in fear, and then freed themselves, getting their asses out of there.

"Damn," Bai knelt on the ground, holding her arm. The only thing she felt was concern toward Mitheel and Matt.

Matt got up and looked over towards his son. Mitheel looked up at him. "Dad I--" "We're going home." he said, voice hard with anger. He looked over at Bai. "Need help?" he asked.

Bai looked up, her eyes glowing red. She saw the new death date of Matt, realizing her eyes actually worked. "I'm fine."

"Alright. You should be getting home too." Matt started off, Oliver at his side. Mitheel followed him, turning for a second. "Goodbye," he whispered to Bai, following his father home.

All she was able to do was sit there, not moving. Her eyes were filled with fear and death, her breathing slowing down.

Oliver could smell the fear coming from her, and he turned, going over to her and letting out a soft roar, nudging her chest. He licked at her wound, hoping to clean it up a little.

She pusehed the cat away. "Great. First being shot and now my allergy to cats is gonna make it infected." Bai mumbled.

Mello arrived home, a pack of smokes and a lighter in his back pockets.

Oliver nudged her, trying to get her to her feet. He growled again.

Matt took Mitheel home, Mitheel still slinking behind him in shame.

"No," Bai replied, slowly rising.

Oliver noticed she was standing. Figuring now she could make it on her own as long as she was up, Oliver headed home.

"Oh shit, his parents are gonna kill him. I better explain it to Mello...."

Matt turned to look at Mitheel. "What were you thinking?" he said. "Going out there all alone, in the dark, in a strange building!"
"Dad, I'm sorry--"
"I'm not done! What's worse, you brought someone else into this! You could have been killed!"
"Dad, I-I'm sorry! I wasn't thinking about that! I just...I...I wish I weren't such a coward! I want to be brave, like you. You're never scared, of anything!"
Matt sighed, and his eyes softened. "I was today." Mitheel looked up at him. "I was afraid I might loose you."
