The Mysterious Notebook Of Murder~Chapter I

Hehe, Autumn's freaked out. Mello caught Autumn's glare as she looked at Mello, a smirk on his face. Mello flew down the stairs, one by one as the boots squeeked.

Matt lit a cigarette as he waited at the bottom of the stairs for Mello.

Bored, Liz got out Oliver's favorite toy, his cow leg bone, and played fetch with it.

Autumn raced down the stairs with Mello, happy to have the pills worn off and her face pain-free.

Matt watched as the big cat grabbed the huge bone in his teeth and sprinted back to Liz, and then he would quiver eagerly until she threw it again.

Unknown to everyone else, Liz was deep in thought, remembering the day she got her scars.
::::FLASHBACK::::
November 5, 2007. The day L Lawliet was supposed to die. Shuddering, Liz shook the thought from her mind as her mental clock ticked closer and closer to "zero." It was about that time L was out in the rain, and Liz was keeping a close eye on Rem. She was going to stop her.
A few moments before L and Light walked in from outside, Rem began to slip away. Liz followed her, giving Oliver a hard "Sit. Stay." she stalked the Shinigami on silent feet, watching as she whipped out her Death Note.
Much to Liz's dismay, she knew Watari had to die. If he didn't, Rem would live, and she couldn't allow that, no matter what the cost. She watched with a growing pain in her chest as Watari died from the heart attack, and then Rem's pencil was about to hit the paper again...
Using the energy stored in the upper part of her legs, Liz hit the Shinigami with full force, feeling it crumple beneath her. "Foolish human!" Rem spat, raking huge claws down her face. Howling in pain, Liz released her, knowing her job was done. The Death Note lay feet away from the Shinigami, and Rem was already degenerating. Blood poured down her face as she watched Rem fall into nothingness, and then she laid down on the cool tile floor. At the sound of her scream, Oliver had come running, and was licking the bleeding side of her face. Smiling softly, she petted his blurry image. "You're my good boy," she murmured, before loosing consciousness.

Autumn watched Liz's expression. "Liz, you're thinking about that day aren't you?" She asked, knowing she was right.

"About what?" Mello questioned Autumn with a plain facial expression as the group walked.

Liz looked down, snapped out of her daydream. "Yeah. At least I was able to save L...but I feel like I was responsible for Watari's death, you know?"

Matt trotted up behind Mello, Shasta running over to him, tail wagging, tounge hanging out of her mouth.

"Jesus Christ I hate him...." Mello muttered under his breath as he looked at the ground. "Just like I hate the white haired freak."

"Hate who, L? I don't hate L." Liz looked down and kicked dirt with her shoe mournfully. Oliver padded up and licked her hand, tail swishing.

"I don't think anyone likes Near that much, Mello," Matt said, petting Shasta.

"Except Gevanni. He loves him."

"Well yeah, obviously," Matt said, rolling his eyes.

"I knew it! Gevanni is in love with Near!" Liz did a little victory dance.

"You just figured that out?! You retard."

[[Retard means slow! D: I found out in band!!!!]]

"No, I knew it all along." Liz grinned. "I was just waiting for one of you to say it."

Shasta laid down and began to chew on Matt's shoe. "W-hey! Leggo of my shoe!" he said, trying to pull her off of his shoe to no avail.

"Haha." Mello laughed and pointed at him, his eyes closed and him smiling.

"I'm glad you find it amusing," Matt said, finally getting the puppy to release her grip. "Phew, you put up quite a fight," he said, pulling her up to eyelevel. "For that, I give you this." he fished around in his pockets and pulled out a small collar, just big enough to fit around Shasta's neck. He fitted it on her and then dropped her gently, letting her run around, tossing her head, trying to figure out what exactly was on her neck.

"A fight? More like she wanted the damn shoe."

"Not like I'd give it to her. I'd be destroyed in a few minutes." he watched as Shasta rubbed all over the grass, trying to get it off her.

".....So?" Autumn laughed at the two fighting. "By the way, we heard your groans."

"...What are you talking about?" Matt asked cautiously.

"99.9%" Liz giggled.

"It's no use anyway, they heard us." Mello muttered so lowly that only Matt could hear.

"100%!" Liz said, jumping on Oliver's back and riding him around in the grass. "I eavesdropped on you!"

"Why you little, I oughta!"

"Now, now, Matty, control yourself!"

"My. name. is. Matt."

"I should shoot you, but I'm not gonna this time..."

Liz galloped around Matt and Mello. "Matt and Mello, sittin' in a tree, F-U-C-K-I-N-G!"

"I'm warning you, bitch. I will shoot and this time I'm serious as hell."

Liz frowned. "I'm not a bitch."

"Yes you are."

"No I'm not!"

"Yes, you are."

"No!"

"Yes."

"No!"

"YES AND IT'S SETTELED. YOU'RE A GIRL AND THAT'S FINAL!" Mello boomed, pulling out his gun quickly.
