The Mysterious Notebook Of Murder~Chapter I

Liz followed him, and Matt trailed behind the entire group, Oliver right beside him.

Beyond turned around from the desk, looking completly different. He was wearing a wig, but his eyes glowing red. "No use for it." he muttered, taking it off. B stood beside him, playing with the Death Note. "They're coming to take us away. For being crazy for murders." "They won't find us, dear."

Mello sighed out. "Ignore them and sneak by, they haven't noiced yet." He murmured, crouching down.

Liz snuck by, her feet making no noise on the floor. Matt followed her, keeping quiet as possible. Finally, Oliver stopped, deciding to take a different approach. The cat exited the building, waiting for the others to find a room, so he could climb up to them.

"Wait until they find us, they'll never realize we've killed half of the world already!" Beyond cackeled.

Mello picked open a room with a paperclip that was in his pocket. Thank God he carried one all the time.

Curiosity killed the cat but... Liz crouched just outside of the door, to the left of it, listening in on this conversation. She could learn something valuable.

B smiled and grabbed Beyond by the waist. "And I know exactly how to kill some more." She smiled at him, then gently kissed him.

Mello unpicked another room for Liz and her cat.

Liz stayed there for a while, before wisely deciding to leave. Oliver, who had been watching, climbed up to the room and went through the window, which had been open.

As soon as Matt found a room, he hid in the bathroom, curling up in the farthest corner of the bathtub.

Mello poked his head into Matt's room, looking for him. Bathroom. "Matt, are you alright?" he whispered as his head was visible but his body was not.

Matt pushed farther into the corner, if it was possible. "I'm fine." he could hear high-pitched whining from somewhere in the room, and he knew it wasn't himself or Mello. "Do you hear that?"

"Yeah.....I dunno what it is, but I think it's a bomb."

"A bomb?" Matt poked his head out from the side of the tub. "I think there's some sort of gas leak, or a bunch of mosquitos." Turns out, it was neither. In fact, sitting now in the middle of the bathroom was a scruffy Siberian-Wolf mix puppy. "A...dog?" Matt got up and picked up the tiny creature. It whined and licked his face. "Eww, dog germs!"

"You big baby." Mello sighed out, picked up the puppy, and dropped it. "Damn, it pissed all over my hands!"

The puppy skimped back to Matt's side, whining and trembling. "Aww, are you scared of storms too?" Matt picked it up again, discovering the dog was a she. "Aww, you're so cute and fluffy!"

Autumn giggled silently, shut their windowless room and locked it from the outside. "YES!" she whispered with a smile. Jon high-fived her. "The plan worked. Now they'll have to have sex!!!"

Liz went up to them. "What are you talking about?" she asked (Jon and Autumn)

"Mello, can we keep her?" Matt asked, cradling the puppy in his arms.

"Sure, I don't care. Just don't let her piss on me." Mello responded, trying to open the door. "What--the--hell." he said, between each jab.

Matt put the puppy down for a second. "I think we've been locked in..."

"No shit, Matt." Mello got frustrated quickly. "Damn.....itt...." He placed his boots on the door and tried to get it to unlock. Didn't budge.

"I bet this is all their doing..." Matt grumbled, sitting on the floor, letting the puppy sit in his lap.

"Are you just gonna sit on your ass and not help?"

"I don't think theres anything we can do." With those words, Matt took out the DS he had been hiding in his vest and started to play it.

Mello pulled out his gun, shot the knob off, and walked out of the room quickly.

"Not as planned," Liz giggled, watching Autumn and Jon for any sign of emotion.

Matt still sat there, playing his game.

..About a Day Later..

"IhateyouIhateyouIhateyou." Jon repeated to Autumn. "Ok, I forgot his gun!"

Mello poked his head into Matt's room. "Matt, we're leaving."

Matt was lying on his bed, the puppy, now named Shasta, lying on his stomach. "Let me finish this level," he muttered, deeply engraved in the DS game in his hands.

Liz stood beside Jonathan and Autumn. "At least you two are still alive," she noted. Oliver purred in agreement.
