Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

"I'm tired," he complained, sliding out of bed. Lightning chirped and climbed up his pants leg and up his shirt to sit on his shoulder.

"Listen, Mitheel. You can see Bai. Just....don't get near her guns or knives."

Mitheel looked at him. "Really! Thanks," he said, petting Lightning who was purring loudly in his ear.

"Just don't go past the living room if she does come over. There are certain things in life you can't do past a living room. And if your gonna go to the bathroom anytime soon, go in mine. Matt's using yours."

Mitheel frowned. "Why? What's wrong with Dad?" he asked.

"Er....nothing, he's just using it at the moment."

Mitheel shifted his weight from one leg to the other. "Well...I'm going out." with that, he ran outside, Lightning jumping off his shoulder to follow.

Bai was out in the city, smiling as her mother pointed at someone perfect to kill. "Mother, they aren't good enough. They're due to die in 15 years. Find one that's due to die some other time." Bai whispered. "Fine. But your next victim isn't gonna be good." "It will."

Mello shrugged, simply going back to see Matt.

Matt was still curled up on the floor, not really attempting to move much. He just lied there with his eyes closed, breathing heavily. Shasta was curled next to him, whining, licking his cheek, trying to get him to open his eyes.

Mitheel meanwhile was looking for Bai, checking all of their hiding places and meeting spots.

After awhile of plotting, her mother allowed Bai to go outside and search. They would do this once a week because they hated killing everyday.

Mello watched Matt with sad and fearful eyes. He hated seeing someone he loved in pain.

Mitheel was looking around when Lightning spotted Bai. He sat and chirped at her, tail swishing from side to side quickly, as though his tail was wagging.

Matt was asleep, having a terrible nightmare from long ago...
It felt as though he were drowning, Matt realized, and he was. Churning his legs wildly, he came to the surface, gasping for air. Big, white hands pushed him back down, however, and he stayed there, his lungs screaming for him to go back up. Whenever he tried, however, he was just pushed back down. It felt like he was dying...

Mello heard a slight whining sound, reaching for Matt. "Matt...." His voice was soft but nervous.

Bai was checking her notebook, looking for what she had to do later in the night. She sat down, her soft brown hair blowing.

Matt shivered and whined louder as he felt the hand on his side.
He felt like screaming, but he couldn't as he was pushed down harder. Water filled his lungs as he drifted to the bottom of the pool. It was so cold, almost warm...

Mitheel looked in the direction of Lightning's chirps and saw Bai. His eyes lit up as he trotted over to her.

"Matt!" His voice rose more as he pushed on him.

Bai smacked on her fingers, a little bit of syrup still on her fingers.

Matt grew still once more, his breathing slowing down from the fast pace it was at.
Suddenly, he was out, on dry land. He coughed, trying to expel the liquid that had pooled in his lungs. He looked up into murderous brown eyes, as he heard "Excellent, excellent."

Mitheel looked at her. "Hey Bai, what are you doing?" he asked curiously.

Mello smacked Matt's face as hard as he could, hoping it would wake him.

"Hm? Oh, hey. Just....writing stuff down. And trying to find my syrup..."

Despite the force, Matt's eyes opened slowly and he whined, the dream overriding the real world. He was hallucinating, his mind making Mello look like his father.

"Oh." Mitheel wandered off to inspect some bushes, when suddenly a tiny black blur flew from the bushes and hit him with a high-pitched growl. Mitheel was knocked down as the figure pinned him by the shoulders, growling. "Wha--hey! Get off me," he whined, trying to escape. The figure was still on him, however, lips curled back in a snarl. "Who are you, outs-s-sider?" he spat. "I could ask you the same question!" Mitheel said back, still wriggling in the boy's grasp. Looking up at his captor, he noticed he had curled black hair and shining blue eyes, not as dark as his own but not sky blue like his father's. "Ans-s-swer my question, and I'll ans-s-wer yours-s-s!" the boy growled.

Bai pulled out her gun quickly, aiming at the dark figure. "GET OFF OF HIM!" she screamed, her eyes wide and glowing more harshly than normal. Her breaths deepened, her pale skin becoming ghostly white. "I'll shoot the hell out of you if you don't get off!"

"Liz!" Mello scramed quickly, noticing something was in fact much worse than before.

"I'm Mitheel, now get off me before she shoots you!" Mitheel said. The figure growled and dismounted him. "Alright. You ans-s-swered me, s-so now I'll ans-s-swer you. My name is Dimitri. Dimitri River-Gevanni."

Bai knew that name, lowering the gun. "You're....you're....I know who you are. You're Near and Gevanni's child."

Dimitri nodded. "I als-so have a s-s-sister, but s-she is-s not here right now. Her name is-s Andromeda."
Mitheel tilted his head. "Really?"

"Why do you talk like that?" Her eyes flickered back to the usual hazel color, the time where she was most calm.

"I have a problem with my s-s-s's. I do that naturally." Dimitri explained, laying down on a pile of pine needles.

"Hm, well, I have a problem with people in case you haven't noticed."

"I did notice that," Dimitri said, cracking a grin.
Mitheel looked at Dimitri. "Son of Near...I've heard that name before..." he murmured.
