Death Note- Another Note Chapter 2

"Oh, c'mon! Where's Mitheel?" Autumn said randomly.

"Still sleeping," Liz answered. Matt got up and stumbled hastily to the bathroom, where he proceeded to throw up everything he'd eaten in the past few days.

"All of us are still waiting on him. Damn..." she muttered quickly.

Liz trotted to the bathroom, where Matt lie limp on the floor, whining. "Matt...what's wrong?" she asked.
"I...I don't know."

Mello followed after Liz quickly, wondering what was wrong. Autumn followed behind him also. "What's wrong Matt?" Autumn asked calmly.

"I...I don't--" he started to say, before leaning back over and emptying his stomach, again. Liz shifted her shoulder blades uncomfortably, eyes narrowing. "I already have a theory...but its a very small chance he has it..."

"Tell me Liz...." Mello asked Liz quickly and softly.

"The disease is so new, it doesn't have a scientific name. It's called Insanity, because it makes the victim go insane. If he does have it, there's a 60% chance Matt will die with treatment. Without it, there's a 99% chance he'll die. The treatment is very, very hard to get and it includes an illegal drug. So right now, I'm estimating that there's an 80% chance Matt will die." Liz explained.

"Well, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of."

"Its true. Jon had it once, but I don't think he remembers it."

"Are you sure? Cuz I've never heard of this."

"There was an outbreak in my demention once, but never in yours. That's probably why," Liz explained, watching as Matt curled up on the tile floor to try and absorb the coolness into his warm body.

"Is he at least gonna be fine if it passes?"

"No, there are only six people out of...well, there've been 1,000 known cases of this, so six people out of 1,000 that survived without treatment. So basically, if we can't find treatment for Matt, he'll die."

Mello lifted her up. "If he dies, I sware I'm going to kill you."

Liz squirmed. "D-don't worry! I know how to help him," she squeaked. "T-the cure is very hard to find, but I can find it! The only trick is not getting arrested," she panted.

Mello released his grasp, still holding onto her shirt. His eyes stared at Matt's thin-like body, then followed over to Liz. "Whatever it takes. But when he dies, which he better not, I'm gonna hang you and shoot you till I feel like I'm going to pass out. Got it?"

Liz nodded. "Okay, okay. Understood." Oliver was now curled around Matt's body, slowly licking his face.

"And get your cat off of Matt! Before I kick it outta the house. Where's Mitheel? I need to talk to him." "He's still asleep." Autumn replied. "Thanks." Mello grumbled, heading off to Mitheel's room.

Liz rubbed Oliver's shoulders. "C'mon boy." the cat uncurled himself from around Matt, and Matt looked up at Liz with sad eyes. "Don't worry about me, go on. I'll just stay here," he rasped.

Mitheel, meanwhile, was asleep, clutching Lightning close.

"Mitheel? Mitheel, wake up."

Mitheel groaned, rolling onto his stomach, not wanting to get up. Lightning wriggled out of his grip and onto his back, chirping at Mello.

"Get up or I'll slaughter you."

Mitheel whined and opened his eyes, sitting up. Lightning jumped off him and onto Mello's boots.

"....What the hell has gotten into you?"
