The Mysterious Notebook Of Murder~Chapter I

"It'll happen soon, shut up Autumn." Mello threw her off of his back.

"When you mean soon, do you mean soon or in like, five years?" "Soon is whenever we feel like it," Matt growled at her. Liz just laughed and tugged at the back of his goggles. "I want goggles like yours."

"Not nice, Mello." Autumn frowned, Mello just laughed. "Chill out."

"Are we going to be doing anything eventful soon?" Liz huffed.

"Yeah, are we?" "No."

"Oh come on! I don't have anything to do until January 26, 2013, the day you two are supposed to die. And then on that day I have to somehow save both of you." Liz growled and crossed her arms.

"We'll know along the way." Mello sighed out, picking Autumn up as Jon followed behind everyone.

"I'm bored...I want to sing." "NO! No singing!" "YES SINGING!" "No!" "Yes!" "No!" "Yes!" Liz kept arguing back and forth with Matt.

"Hell no!" Mello screamed suddenly. "No singing, we've had enough of that today."

"Hush, my little Mello,
let your dreams take wing,
one day when you're big and strong,
you will be a king~"
"Oh no, not that song! Anything but that!"

Mello took out his gun quickly, this time a bigger one. "I'm warning you, Liz."

"Then can I sing Why should I worry by Billy Joel?"
"That's an annoying song."
"Of course it is."

"Don't sing and I won't shoot."

"You wouldn't shoot me anyway. I'm the only one who knows how to save you, and if you shot me, even if you missed me, my cat would tear you to shreds. He'll keep going even with bullets in his chest...or legs...or anywhere for that matter."

"So if I shot your cat in the heart he wouldn't die?!"

"Not right away. Seeing how strong he is, he'd still be able to tear you apart with a bullet in his heart, but he'd probably die afterwords."

"Can we please stop talking about this?" Matt asked. The scent of rain was now hanging heavy in the air, and Matt was beginning to get concerned, seeing the dark clouds in the distance. Matt was deathly afraid of thunderstorms, and he could sense one coming. Pacing around, Matt's hair rose on end and his eyes got wide, his pupils small as periods.

"Hehehe, Matt's scared of a little storm?" Autumn taunted noticing the worry in his eyes.

Mello laughed. "C'mon, Matt, it's a thunderstorm. Not a big deal."

"It is a big deal," Matt hissed. "Can we find a building or something?" unknown to everyone else, Matt had terrible Brontophobia and Hydrophobia, from tests done on him when he was younger. "Before the water starts coming down," he said, shivering.

"Matt, are you okay?" Liz asked worriedly. "Do you have Brontophobia? My dog has that, she's deathly afraid of thunderstorms."

"Dude, we're in the middle of a forest." Mello replied. "I doubt there's a building anywhere."

Matt could suddenly hear a stroke of thunder, and he howled, diving under a bush for cover, trembling so hard he couldn't feel his legs or his arms.

"Chill, Matt. We'll find something soon. Why didn't you tell us, though?" Mello, for once, had concern in his voice.

"Because you'd just laugh at me--AH!" thunder sounded in the distance again and Matt lowered his head, trying to dig a bigger hole under the bush.

"I probably would've in my head, but I would've helped." Suddenly, he realized why they lived in the mountains. No storms.

Matt's heart pounded faster and faster as the thunder got closer and it started to rain. The rain only made it worse, and in his unstable state of mind he darted out from the bush and ran in circles around the trees, Liz keeping a close eye on him to make sure he didn't run off somewhere.

"And I thought I was the scared one of that stupid cat." Mello muttered, trying to calm Matt down with a DS.
