The Mysterious Notebook Of Murder~Chapter I

"Shut--up--" Mello coughed out between his choking fit.

"Are you okay Mello?" Matt asked, noticing that the small cigarette had all but reached its end. He flicked it towards a trashcan and leaned against the wall.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I'm just over here choking on Autumn's death pills! I'm totally fine...." He replied sarcastically.

"Sorry, sorry," Matt sighed. "Do you like, want some water or something?"

"Nah, I'm good." Mello finished finally, since the pill disolved. Why does this taste like cinammon?

"Okay." Matt turned and headed off to his room. It was getting late, and he was tired.

Mello sighed and walked to his own room, where he was passed out.

Matt switched the light off and stretched out on his bed, falling asleep almost immediately.

Mello was half awake, grabbing a bottle of beer from the mini fridge.

Matt was fully awake in his room, Shasta on his lap, and he was combing through her thick fur with his fingers, letting her rest her head on his knee.

Mello tripped over a loose floor board. Immediatley, he cursed and got up, glass in his hand.

Matt heard the thump in the opposite room and heard Mello's curse -- apparently Shasta did too, because her ears perked up and swiveled around.

Mello walked past Matt's room and toward Autumn and Jon's. "Hey, Autumn, help?" "Yeah, sure. C'mon in." Mell walked in, Jon's eyes wide with scaredness. "Uh....""I tripped alright?! Can you just pull the glass out? i'm too lazy.."

Matt rubbed Shasta's ears, and figured she was hungry. After all, the dog had only eaten leftovers the other night for food. So he got up and trotted into Liz's room, where she was sitting with Oliver.
"Hey Liz, do you have any dog food I can feed Shasta?"
"Matt, why don't you think about that for a second. I own a tiger. Why would I be carrying dog food?"
Matt snorted. "It was an innocent question, geez."
"I don't have dog food, but you can feed her some of Oliver's food." Liz put some of the big cat's food into a small bowl and gave it to Matt, who in turn gave it to Shasta.

Mello looked at the glass stained with blood beside him. "That's so frickin cool." "Alright, I'm done. There were 10 shards in your hand. What the hell were you holding?!" Autumn's voice rose like a mother's would. "A beer bottle, but that's not your concern."

Matt could hear the conversation next door as he watched Shasta wolf down the food. He was a little worried about Mello cutting his hand, but he pushed it away.

Mello tooke the glass and threw it in the recycle bin and walked out of the room. Or at least attempted. He had walked into the door, but then opened it and then walked out.

Matt stretched out across his bed and started to play his DS, Shasta curling up on his back.

Mello rapped his fingers on the door lightly. "Can I come in?"

Matt looked up. "Yeah, come in." he paused the game for a second, Shasta jumping down to check out the intruder.

Mello turned the knob, seeing Shasta. "Hey, Shasta." He said in a cooeing voice.

Shasta barked and trotted at his heels, Matt turning over so that he was facing Mello.

"Hey," he sighed out, putting the glove over the wrapped hand once more.

"I heard you cut your hand." Shasta jumped up beside Matt, and Matt scratched affectionately behind her ears.

"More of like dropped a beer bottle and sent shards of glass through my hand." A little whacked from the medicine, Mello pushed Matt down onto the bed, placing his hands far apart.
